Miao Batik
Miao batik is a traditional folk dyeing technique with a long history. As early as the Qin and Han Dynasties, the Miao people had mastered batik technology, which reached its peak in the Song Dynasty. The principle of batik is to seal fabric fibers with wax to prevent dye from penetrating, thus forming patterns. During the dyeing process, the wax naturally cracks, forming unique "ice crack patterns". The decorative patterns of Miao batik record the social history, totem worship, myths and legends, and religious culture of the Miao people.
